¹⁷ Tell us therefore what you think: is it lawful to remit tribute to Caesar, or not?

¹⁸ Jesus perceived their wickedness and said, Why do you bait me, you hypocrites? ¹⁹ Let me see the tribute coin. So they brought him a denarius.
